The CSU Application
The California State University (CSU) is a state wide learning institution with a wide and diverse student body. The CSU system has 23 campuses across California, each specialized to fit student needs, broad and narrow. However, while the CSU system is open to all, we at Firecracker Youth understand that navigating the CSU application can be a difficult process and we are here to help. Below, we have provided a step-by-step guide on the CSU application, ensuring that you can maximize your chances of admission and pop!

CSU Application Guide
Step 1) Go to the CSU website and press “Apply”.

Step 2) Select the term you are applying for and press the red “Apply” button (Scroll if you can't find the "Apply" button).

Step 3) Press “Create Account”.

Step 4) Fill in the blank sections marked by a red asterisk (*) and agree to the terms and services. When you are done, press “Create Account”.

Step 5) Fill out the "Extended Profile" section, filling every blank section marked by a red asterisk (*). When you're finished, press "Save Changes".

Step 6) Head to “Add Program” and add your desired programs. Be sure to research any college or major you're applying to! When you are finished, press "Continue to my application".

Step 7) Go through each section of “My Application”, filling out your “Personal Information”, “Academic History”, “Supporting Information”, and “Program Materials”.

Step 8) Go to “Submit Application” and submit your application.

Important Tips
If you are a low income first generation student, we highly advise you to apply for and join the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). By opting into EOP, you gain access to college resources that will help you succeed, that include but not limited to recruitment, preadmission counseling, orientation, summer programs, diagnostic testing, financial aid follow-up, special admissions, pre introductory instruction, academic advisement, tutoring, skill learning services, and personal, educational and career counseling.
If you are interested, the requirements for EOP are listed below:

Has a history of low family income.
Must be enrolled on a full-time basis. (Part-time attendance requires program director’s approval.)
Is an undergraduate.
Needs admission assistance as an exception admit, OR Meets regular admission requirements but in the opinion of EOP personnel will require a full range of assistance to succeed.
Has been nominated by an appropriate state agency, a California high school or community college, the Veterans Administration, a campus president, or a designee of the California State University.
